This is a tried and true recipe. that I have used for several years.
It is so soft and light. And don’t forget buttery, so yummy
2 pkg. active dry yeast
3/4 cup warm water 110 degrees
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cop soft shortening
4 cups all purpose flour
1 stick butter
add warm water into measuring cup and add yeast to dissolve.
Add sugar, eggs, salt and 2 cups of the flour, add water and yeast mixture. Beat well and add
the rest of flour and beat until smooth just a couple of min. Turn out onto work surface and knead a few times
