Support Group for Cancer Patients And Caregivers


This is my focus right now . I am sorry to let down my followers, but with this sickness in my home it is all I can think about. I am the Caregiver and with that comes great responsibly . I take this job very seriously.  From trying  to figure out fiances to daily activity of housework, keeping up with appointments and patients daily needs and meals,making sure patient get proper nurhisment. I will get back to my blogging as soon as I can. This has to be my main focus now. Thank you all and  eat healty choices and stay warm.    Check out my Support Group and join if you to have someone sick or a terrible  diease and you need to vent or just someone to talk to or just be there to listen check us out there is a lot of love and prayers for anyone that needs it. If you are aCaregiver and need to talk ther are some of us that need a non judgement friend to talk to check us out. This group has some of the best people I have ever met and proud to call them my friends.

Yummy Meatloaf


2 pound ground beef

1onion chopped

1bell pepper chopped

sal and pepper

2 slices of white or wheat sclied  bread

1/2 cup milk

2 or 3 tsp. garlic powder

1cup tomato catsup


1tbsp. worcestershire

Hot sauce if desire

Brown ground beef, take out  and add chopped onion and bell pepper and sautéed until tender.

add to beef, add egg, Worcestershire, hot sauce,   Tomato catsup pour the milk over the bread slices and mix together and add to beef mix beef and all the ingredients together and place in a casserole dish . Bake at 350 until golden I add catsup to top when about half way through cooking

Itailan Pasta Salad

Yummy Stuff

1 box Penne Pasta

1 1/2 Pound ground beef

1 recipe my yummy pasta sauce recipe

 Cook pasta to desired tenderness.   Brown  ground beef. 


Pasta Sauce Recipe

1 1/2 cups water

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/2 stick butter

1 small onion chopped

2 tablespoons mustard

2 tbsp. vinegar

1 1/2 cups catsup

4 tbsp. lemon juice

1 to 2 tsp. Italian spices

3 good dashes of Worcestershire sauce

Hot sauce to taste

Mix first six ingredients in a saucepan and  bring to a boil and turn down to simmer for about 20 min.

Add catsup and rest of ingredients  and simmer until mixture cooks down and thickens about 30 to 45 minutes

Add browned ground beef to pasta sauce.

Left over sauce will keep in refrigerator for  2 weeks. It is a good one to make ahead of time if your planning a cookout. I like to start thinking about doing summer things this time of year. I get ready for spring and planning some good vegetables and flowers, My husband plants lots of sunflowers every year all around where they can be seen from every window. Mary’s BLT Pasta Salad

IMG_3307 Mary’s BLT Salad, simple and delicious Cold  snowy days , make me want to bake and make tasty dishes This is a great summertime dessert, but also a great comfort food. Savory Tomato Cobbler

Decided I wanted something different one day for lunch   and went looking  to see what kind of ingredient I had.

I found the tomatoes and went from there. So this is what I come up with and got a thumbs up from hubby.


1 lg. can  diced tomatoes or two smaller cans

1 sm onion sauteed

2 cloves garlic sauteed

1 tbsp. sugar

1 tsp. salt

1 cup whole kernel corn

1/2 cup broth

Dissolve 2 tbsp. bacon grease or oil in a sauce pan

add chopped onion , garlic and cook until softens, add tomatoes, sugar and salt 1/2 cup  chicken or beef broth

Melt 1 stick margarine in casserole dish

Mix 1 cup flour

1 cup milk

1 tsp. sugar

pour this over melted butter and pour tomatoes mixture over the top and top with cheese and bake until golden.

Serve topped with sour cream. yummy

Yummiest Lemon Pound Cake ♥♥♥♥♥ With Tangy Glaze


Another one of Mary’s simple and easy tried and true favorite recipes

 It is lemony.tangy and delicious ♥♥♥♥♥

I have made this cake for many tears and different occasions and it is always a  thumbs up.

 It is so tender, moist and light.♥♥♥♥♥

 Recipe ♥♥♥♥♥

1 box lemon cake mix ( without the pudding)

1 4 oz. box vanilla instant pudding

1 cup milk

1 cup oil

4 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla and 1 tsp. lemon extract

Mix for about 5 minutes on med.

Bake 350 in middle of oven for 35 to 40 min. depending on your oven ( I check mine at 25 minutes and if needs more I turn heat down to 325 and check again in 10 minutes) serve with some fruit  just eat alone delicious either way.

For the glaze mix 3/4 cup powdered sugar and lemon juice to mix to a med. consistency

Try a Yellow cake mix and vanilla a pudding for a  more traditional pound cake.

Italian Chicken Salad


Italian roasted leftover chicken makes delicious chicken salad.♥

2 chicken breast

1/ sweet onion chopped

1 boiled egg chopped

1/2 stalk celery chopped

2 sweet pickle chopped

1/2 sliced grapes Optional.( I like the sweetness of the grapes with the crunch of the celery and tenderness of the chicken.)

salt and pepper to taste

1/2 tsp. mustard

Add mayo or salad dressing to mix  it all together, refrigerate it for a few hours and let  everything get acquainted with other, Now It is time for the delicious sandwich


It was so good I could have eat two, if I had not been so full.

Tryout your leftovers and try something new. Never know what you may come up with.

Italian Roasted Chicken Breast


So delicious and yet so easy, a good little recipe to add a salad and drink and there you have it all within an hour and time for homework and play afterward. Here lately at my place we have a health issue at hand and not cooking a lot. but will try to post something everyday I can, Now it is just simple cooking.

The Big recipe I hope  this won’t be to complicated ( LOL)

1 small bottle Italian salad dressing

2 or 3  chicken breast

pour dressing over chicken ( better if  marinates overnight,

marinate for at least 4 to 5 hours,

Set oven for roasting I set my for 350 degrees and turn 1/2 way through and brush with more of the sauce, Takes about 30 minutes. Temp should be 160 , Cover and let rest about 10 minutes while you prepare your salad. What did I tell you ,really complicated!!!!!! Lol. Simple and Easy can be really delicious. Hope you will try it an let me know if you liked it. I served mine with Turnip greens and mashed potatoes and cauliflower, it was all so yummy to the tummy.

Delicious Brownie Dessert


Left over brownies or evevn chocolate cake will work, but I had brownies so wanted desert for for our supper.

You have to admit this is one sexy looking dessert, be a good valentine dessert, and so incredibly easy and delicious.

Cut warmed  brownies into bite size pieces and place in the bottom of dessert dish.  drizzle  with chocolate syrup.

Add good scoop of ice cream sprinkle with chopped pecans and drizzle  generously with chocolate syrup.

Homemade Chocolate Syrup

1 1/2 cup sugar

2 tbsp.. or more if you like cocoa

3/4 cup milk

place all ingredients in saucepan and bring to a boil , turn down heat to med and cook until begins to thicken

stirring often you can’t walk of and leave it.. It will take about 10 to 12 min. add vanilla. My mom used to make this all the time, her favorite was vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce and it was always so so good, it became the family favorite.

Hope you will try this and enjoy as much as we do. for valentines dessert mix it up strawberry  would be awesome on the brownie with chocolate sauce.

Oatmeal Cookie Bars

I want to make this tomorrow, love cookie bars and these look so good.

This is a recipe from Buns in My Oven.  This is a great blog so take a minute to stop by and enjoy all her wonderful posts!!

This is her Oatmeal Cookie Bars recipe.  It was super simple to make.


You assemble all the ingredients into your mixing bowl (except for the chocolate chips).


Mix just until combined.


Add the chocolate chips.  I actually used chocolate and butterscotch chips.


Spread in a greased cake pan (13X9) and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.


Cut into bars and sample one before bagging them to use for the kids lunch desserts for the week!!
