Yummy Chocolate Fudge Pie


This was one of my favorite pies growing up it is chocolate and always best when served warm with a big scoop of ice cream.

My i can just taste it. Yum Yum Good.
1 1/2 cups sugar
4 tbsp. cocoa
6 Tbsp. AP flour
3 eggs
1 1/2 sticks butter
2 tsp. pure vanilla
chopped pecans
Mix sugar , cocoa, flour mix together well and add eggs softened butter and vanilla, add pecan and pour into 9 ” pie crust. Bake 350 degrees for 35 to 40 min. or until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean. Enjoy with whipped cream or ice cream or just enjoy pie . Delicious Brownie Dessert


Left over brownies or evevn chocolate cake will work, but I had brownies so wanted desert for for our supper.

You have to admit this is one sexy looking dessert, be a good valentine dessert, and so incredibly easy and delicious.

Cut warmed  brownies into bite size pieces and place in the bottom of dessert dish.  drizzle  with chocolate syrup.

Add good scoop of ice cream sprinkle with chopped pecans and drizzle  generously with chocolate syrup.

Homemade Chocolate Syrup

1 1/2 cup sugar

2 tbsp.. or more if you like cocoa

3/4 cup milk

place all ingredients in saucepan and bring to a boil , turn down heat to med and cook until begins to thicken

stirring often you can’t walk of and leave it.. It will take about 10 to 12 min. add vanilla. My mom used to make this all the time, her favorite was vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce and it was always so so good, it became the family favorite.

Hope you will try this and enjoy as much as we do. for valentines dessert mix it up strawberry  would be awesome on the brownie with chocolate sauce.

Super Delicious German Chocolate Poke Cake


1 german chocolate cake mix

Mix according to box directions

3.4 oz.. box vanilla instant pudding

1 regular tub cool whip

1 tsp. vanilla

Bake cake as directed on cake box. Cool: Poke holes with handle of wooden spoon every inch from top to  bottom and side to side.

Mix vanilla pudding with 2 cups cold milk let sit for 10 min. Spread 1/2 of pudding over cake making sure it goes down in the holes. Use your pudding  before it set all the way,it needs to be thin to get down in the holes. mix other 1/2 of pudding with the cool whip and add vanilla , now add 1/2 cup or more nuts and 12 to  3/4 cup coconut . Spread all over cake

Toast in skillet on med heat 1/2 cup coconut to sprinkle on top. It is unbelievable delicious. This is what is on my kitchen table. check back in and see what’s cooking

How to Make Oatmeal

  • Make oatmeal with milk instead of water to increase the protein and calcium.
  • Ramp up the healthfulness by stirring in some yogurt with live active cultures and reap the health benefits of probioitcs.
  • Add fresh fruit such as blueberries, strawberries, bananas, or apples to increase the fiber, vitamins and minerals, as well as add anti-oxidant rich phytochemicals. No fresh fruit? Add dried fruit such as raisins or cranberries.
  • Add nuts such as walnuts, pecans, olive oil, and sunflower seeds to add heart healthy mono or poly-unsaturated fatty acids and protein. The added fat will also help you stay full even longer.
  • For added sweetness without the calories, consider adding stevia or another low calorie sugar substitute.

I recently got this recipe off the Rachel Ray Show, with Kelsey Nixon (Food Network)

I have tried and it is a very good cookies and is soft and kind of like a cake cookie. Family approved.

Ingredients for Cookies

1 cup all purpose flour

1 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. salt

1 cup quick oats

2 mashed bananas

1/2 cup applesauce

1/2 cup peanut butter

1/2 cup brown sugar

2 tsp vanilla

1 cup chocolate chips

1 cup coconut

1/2 cup cups.

In large mixing bowl add flour.baking soda,salt and baking powder Whisk all together. Add oats, coconut,and nuts. In a separate bowl add all the wet ingredients and add to the dry. stir until  fully combined. stir in the chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonful’s. onto  lightly greased baking sheet. Bake 20 to 25   in a preheated oven at 350 degrees.

Lemon says spring to me and yes I am pushing it, love spring when everything begins to wake up and start to get green and all the spring flowers and trees blooming it is  so beautiful. Love to get the camera out and hold the beauty. You just have to be thankful for all the beauty that God has created. We got a few more weeks to go ,but can so look forward.  Hope everyone is enjoying this day and cook something good.


1/2 cup butter

1 cup Crisco

2 1/2 cups sugar

4 eggs

1 cup buttermilk

2 1/2 cups all purpose flour

1/2 tsp. soda

2 tsp. lemon extract and juice of I/2 lemon

In a Mixing bowl, add butter, shortening, sugar and  mix well.  Add the eggs 1 at a time and mix after each.  Add milf and flour alternately and add 1/2 tsp. soda mixed with 1 tsp. water. mix together and pour into a greased and floured tube pan

have oven preheated to 325. bake for 45 minutes to one hour or until done . Ovens vary in heating. Now to make this cake even more yum squeeze the other half of the lemon over cake and make glaze with lemon juice and zest of lemon, and drizzle over cake. Apple Crumble Pie

8 apples peeled and sliced

3/4 cup sugar

1/4 tsp. cinnamon

3 tbsp. corn starch

3/4 cup  apple cider or apple juice ( or Water)

Mix sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch all together and pour in juice, add apples and cook until apples start to get tender . Take off if to thick add a little juice or water to thin. Pour into pie crust and add the crumble on top recipe will follow.


1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup flour

3/4 stick cold butter/

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

add all to food processer or can do by hand.

crumble and mix altogether well and add to top of pie.

Bake 350 for 35 to 45 minutes until crust and crumb mixture is golden

Mary,s Jello Cake


1  angel food cake

Slice to make 2 layers

1 box green jello

1 box red jello

make each box by directions on box and jello in pans the same size as cake  except use 1 1/2 cups water

Set cake in freezer will be easier to put together.

after they have jelled all the way. Just assemble as shown on cake

Frost with cool whip.

Blackberry & Cherry Cobbler


Yummy to the tummy berries.

Preheat oven to 350

For Crust:

1/1/2 cups all purpose flour

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. baking powder mix:

6 tbsp.. cold butter, diced

4 or tablespoons cold water

when dough hold together.

Roll out in 13 x 9 rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.

Place crust in 13 x 9 dish


 Add berries which have been sweetened to taste with 

 1 tbsp. lemon juice and

1/2 tsp. cinnamon. 

Mix 1/2   cup sugar

For Top

1/2 cup S R flour

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 tsp. all spice

8 tbsp. cold butter

Mix all together with fork

Spoon over cobbler.

Bake 350 until golden brown

Red Velvet Cake


1 1/4 cups sugar

1 cup soft shortening

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

2 1/4 cups all purpose flour

1 Tbsp. cocoa

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tbsp. vinegar

Combine sugar & shortening, blend well, add eggs and vanilla.

Sift together flour, cocoa salt add dry ingredients   alternately with buttermilk

Add the red coloring,  blend in with batter. This makes 3 layers. Grease and flour pans.

Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees.

Cream Cheese Frosting

1  8 oz. cream cheese

1 stick butter softened

2 to 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar, add more if needed

1 tsp. vanilla

Beat all in mixer until smooth. spread on cake. add nut ti icing if you like

Mom’s Sweet Potato Casserole


3 cups mashed sweet potatoes

3/4 cups sugar

1/3 cup carnation milk

1 stick butter

2 tsp. vanilla

Combine all the ingredients above and put in a casserole dish.


1/2 cup flour

1 cup brown sugar

cut in butter.

1/2 cups  chopped pecans
